"Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful parts of us" -- David Richo
I believe that in order for you to be successful in therapy you have to feel comfortable with your therapist. Please reach out if you are ready to take this next step in your journey. I offer a free 15 minute consultation to answer any questions you may have and discuss how I can best support you.
Who I help
My focus is helping adults and young adults who are struggling with their relationships, going through a difficult life or role transition, and/or dealing with depression/anxiety. Clients who reach out to me for therapy are usually feeling disconnected from others, having a difficult time setting boundaries with others or with work, or struggling with communicating effectively. I also help individuals who are experiencing anxiety and stress due to recent changes in their lives. Life transitions can include: separation, divorce, infidelity, career changes, arrival of a new baby, etc. Some of these changes can be unpredictable and abrupt and may cause you to feel overwhelmed. Whether you are looking to explore your relationship patterns and feel connected to others or process a life transition, I am here to help.
My Approach
My therapeutic style is supportive, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I like to work collaboratively with my clients to identify behavior patterns keeping them stuck, learn to set healthy boundaries with others, and challenge negative thinking patterns. My approach to therapy is eclectic and strength-based. It is my goal as a therapist to meet my clients where they are and help them process difficult experiences while also empowering them to make positive changes.
About
I am a bilingual therapist and co-founder of Primavera Counseling. I began my journey as a therapist because of a desire to help others lead healthy, fulfilling lives. I believe that our past experiences, whether good or bad, shape our beliefs about ourselves, the world, and affect how we relate to others. Unresolved past traumas and negative experiences can lead to depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflicts, and difficulty managing life stressors and transitions. Growing up as a first generation Latina, I also understand the impact that culture and traditional values can have on our day to day functioning. I am passionate about mental health and have seen firsthand the positive impact that therapy can have on a person's life. I look forward to being part of your journey.
